Deliverables
The aim of my leadership project is to create a suite of practical tools and resources that will help ensure the long-term strength, inclusivity, and sustainability of the scholarship program. Key deliverables include two virtual trainings to support onboarding for new leaders and committee members, as well as a comprehensive impact report outlining lessons learned and forward-looking strategies. This report will be shared with our parent organization, the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) with the goal of publication.

Together, these resources are designed to build momentum, provide clarity, and empower future leaders to carry the vision forward with confidence.
Deliverables
1. Onboarding Presentations
Develop two comprehensive onboarding presentations: one for future committee leaders and one for committee members. These presentations outline the program’s goals, scholarship values, and essential tools, while offering clear guidance on how to carry the vision forward. Each resource is designed to build confidence, ensure continuity, and inspire a shared commitment to equity and excellence.

2. Institutional Learning & Replicable Change
Present key findings and recommendations to Junior League leadership to foster alignment, strengthen long-term ownership, and sustain a shared vision. Document the complete process in a detailed impact report and case study, capturing lessons learned and proven strategies. These materials are intended as a model for other Junior League chapters and community organizations seeking to redesign scholarship programs through equity-driven, sustainable practices.

Final Reflection
Throughout this journey, I applied the theories and tools studied in my coursework to a real-world challenge: the very program I started at the beginning of my degree. I discovered that effective leadership requires both a clear vision and adaptability, as unexpected obstacles often become opportunities for growth and innovation, if you just take a moment to reflect holistically.

This project came together during a summer full of unexpected challenges: limited childcare, unpredictable weather, and a layoff that shook our family’s sense of security. Despite it all, I was determined to see this work through because I believe so deeply in the power of equitable, accessible programs. Completing my capstone project has been a transformative experience that deepened my understanding of leadership, collaboration, and purposeful change and reaffirmed my commitment to creating inclusive, sustainable impact.

In the end, it wasn’t just my commitment that made it possible, it was my community. Special thanks to my husband, Joseph, for his unwavering support, to the Junior League of Cleveland for believing in this vision, and to the Lake County YMCA, whose summer camp gave my twins, Squishy and Squeaky, a safe place to learn and play while I worked. The YMCA café became my second office, and before long, it was a running joke that if you needed me, you’d find me there, laptop open, working away.

More than anything, I hope this project leaves the world a little better for not just my kids, but for every young person who dreams of a brighter future.
I live in Cleveland and I won't shut up about it.
